Effect of organic-mineral fertilizers on development and yield of winter garlic plants

The report consists of 17 pages and has 7 tables.

Weather conditions in 2019-2020 were favorable for the growth and development of winter garlic. The use of fertilizers increased the amount of mobile compounds available to plants during the period of bulb formation. At the end of the growing season, there was a tendency to a significant decrease in mobile compounds, which indicated an intensive consumption of nutrients by garlic to form a high yield on fertilized variants. In these variants, moisture was used more rationally by plants: the water consumption coefficient was less than the unfertilized variant by 16-38 m3/t.

When fertilizers were applied, the height of garlic plants was in the range of 55.8-64.5 cm; the number of leaves per plant was 7.3-8.1 pcs.; bulb weight was 54.4-60.8 g. Moreover, when using the finely dispersed form of Greenodin microbox, the height of plants increased by 3-12 cm, the number of leaves by 0.2-1.7 pcs. and the bulb weight by 2.6-10.6 g compared to other variants of the experiment.

The highest level of winter garlic yield (15.3-15.9 t/ha) was obtained by planting bulbs in the third decade of October in the variant with the application of Greenodin gray or Greenodin microbox fertilizers at a dose of 300 kg/ha. Fertilization increased not only the yield but also improved the quality of garlic bulbs.

The highest profitability of 139-140% and conditional net profit of 178.0-185.5 thousand UAH/ha was obtained when growing garlic against the background of Greenodin gray and Greenodin microbox, 300 kg/ha. In these variants, the lowest cost of bulbs was observed – 8.3-8.4 thousand UAH/t.
