Kazakhstan is introducing three new national standards for organic agriculture from July 1, 2026: Participatory Guarantee Systems, Group Certification of Producers, and Organic Products from Wild Raw Materials. For Kazakhstan, and primarily for Almaty, this means the need to create a locally adapted technological platform that includes:
1. Reclamation of degraded soils. Application of organo-mineral bioactivators based on biochar, humic substances, natural minerals and beneficial microbiota to restore soil structure, increase moisture retention, reduce dusting, stabilize the nutrient regime and trigger biological activity.
2. Reclamation of urban and suburban lands. Preparation of soil for landscaping yards, parks, alleys, slopes, embankments, sanitary protection zones, areas near highways and industrial facilities. This is especially important for Almaty due to the combination of urban heat load, the shortage of high-quality green areas and the need for economical irrigation.
3. Cleaning and revitalization of water bodies. Comprehensive cleaning of water bodies should include not only mechanical removal of sludge, but also analysis of its composition, safe separation of fractions, possible biological stabilization, use of natural sorbents, biofiltration and subsequent conversion of a suitable part of the organic mass into components for reclamation.
4. Support for organic farming. Almaty region has potential for gardening, berry growing, vegetable growing, fodder crops, legumes and demonstration organic farms. Here it is advisable to launch pilots with partial reduction of mineral background, biologization of technologies, control of pH, electrical conductivity, humus, microbiological activity and yield.

2. Agropilot in Almaty region. A plot of 5–20 hectares with garden, vegetable, berry, legume or fodder crops. The goal is to test the possibility of reducing mineral fertilizers by 25–30% without loss of yield, with a parallel improvement in soil parameters.
3. Water Pilot. A separate body of water, canal, pond or section of riverbed. The purpose is to analyze silt deposits, assess the possibility of their safe processing, apply natural sorbents and biological methods to reduce organic load, siltation, odor and the risk of secondary pollution.

Kazakhstan already has a state demand for a green economy, organic farming, landscaping, land clearing, and water conservation. Almaty has all the prerequisites to become the first demonstration location for a comprehensive model of land reclamation and land improvement.
