Waste processing equipment: innovation and ecology

Environmentally friendly processing of mixed household waste is made possible by modern equipment. The MSW processing complex is based on high-tech installations that ensure efficiency and minimal environmental impact.

Main equipment of the complex

1. Sorting lines:

The line has a capacity of 5 tons per hour. It separates glass, metal and inert materials from organics and plastic. 9 workers per shift are required to operate one line.

2. ERVO modules:

Fifteen ERVO modules are capable of processing 195 tons of waste per day. Each module is optimized for a specific type of waste (plastic, rubber, organics).

3. Shredders:

Five powerful shredders ensure the crushing of material for further processing in pyrolysis reactors.

4. Product storage containers:

The complex is equipped with tanks for liquid fuel, gas, and carbon black, which ensures the safety and long-term storage of products.

5. Microturbines for electricity generation:

From the thermal capacity of 38,250 kW/h, 3,750 kW/h of electricity can be obtained. In total, the complex generates about 22.5 MW/h of energy.

Additional features

  • The carbon activation plant allows the solid residue to be processed into high-quality activated carbon used in industry.
  • The carbon activation plant allows the solid residue to be processed into high-quality activated carbon used in industry.

Benefits for the environment and the economy

An innovative approach to waste recycling contributes to:

  • reducing landfill volumes;
  • production of environmentally friendly energy;
  • creating new jobs;
  • reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

This complex is an important step towards Ukraine’s energy independence and sustainable development.

Main technological processes

1. Activated carbon

The solid residue (50 tons per day) is processed into activated carbon for:

  • filter production;
  • sorbents for pharmaceuticals and industry.

2. Processing CO2 into dry ice

Using a filtration system, up to 120 tons of CO2 per hour is released from the exhaust gases of diesel generators, from which dry ice is produced (≈30 tons).

3. Metal residues

Metal from used tires is processed into high-quality steel ingots (up to 10 tons per day).

Energy performance of the plant

1. Thermal energy

Total heat flow: 38,250 kWh.

Some of the heat is used to heat the reactors, and some is used for heating.

2. Electricity generation

Microturbines generate up to 3750 kWh of thermal energy.

3. Stability of work

The plant operates 24/7 with a maintenance break once a month.

Economic benefit

  • The competitive cost of the plant is up to $100 million (lower than foreign analogues).
  • Using waste as raw material reduces dependence on traditional energy sources.
  • Prospects for the export of synthetic fuels and activated carbon.

Conclusion.

The proposed complex demonstrates an innovative approach to MSW processing while simultaneously obtaining synthetic resources and energy. This opens new horizons for the ecological development of industry in Ukraine.
